So, if I understand correctly, I can only get pregnant on the day(s) I am ovulating? How many days does one normally ovulate? And are there certain times of an ovulation day that are more likely for conception? Sorry, new to this:)

Hi there, thanks for contacting us!  Ovulation actually only occurs for one day in each cycle and lasts for 12-24 hours, but sperm can stay alive inside of you for up to 5 days before ovulation and potentially live long enough for conception to occur.  The best time to have sex to conceive is when you observe cervical fluid that looks somewhat like raw eggwhites - slippery, clear, and stretchy.

If you are new to fertility charting I suggest reading this article on our site: http://blog.kindara.com/blog/trying-to-get-pregnant-you-need-to-know-this

Let me know if you have any questions, I'm happy to help.

If you use opks, how long after ovulation would the opk no longer show traces of LH? Is it hours or immediate?

Hi Amanda, thanks for contacting us!  According to some research about OPKs, OPK results can actually be either early or late by up to 48 hours.  So it's possible that you could continue getting positive OPK results after ovulation is already over.  I hope this helps!

I am trying for baby number 2 and used this app to help with baby 1. But I know once your temp changes you have ovulated but how do you know when to have sex if you don't get the egg white gooey discharge? I never got that last time and I got pregnant. My hubby does have a low sperm count so we really try to save all his swimmers for the 1-2 days that I am ovulating. Any suggestions?

Also I am still nursing my 7 month old. I got my period back when he was 4 months old. Do I need to stop nursing in order to get pregnant?

Hi tkneesel, thanks for contacting us!  Hm, unfortunately it can be harder to identify when you're most fertile if you don't see eggwhite-quality cervical fluid.  As a first step, it may help to make sure you're staying hydrated, as hydration levels can actually have a large impact on your cervical fluid.  If that doesn't work, you may want to time intercourse for when you see creamy cervical fluid to maximize your chance of pregnancy.

You don't necessarily need to stop nursing in order to get pregnant, but many women don't ovulate while breastfeeding or may ovulate infrequently while breastfeeding, so it might be harder for you to get pregnant quickly.  Best of luck!

Is is possible to ovulate during menstruation? I'm on the second day of my period, which usually last 5 days and the app is predicting that my fertile window starts tomorrow.

Hi, we are desperately trying to fall pregnant but my period cycles are anything from 33-37 days! When I put my data in I put 33 days but my last cycle was 37 days. How should I work out when I'm ovulating this month?

    Thanks

    Hi

If my cycle length varies 26-36 days for the past 5-6 months with mostly 32-35 days how would I track ovulation? Also i saw you stated that if you are not getting the egg white clear substance another opportunity my be during creamy discharge? Is this correct?

I have a similar issue. My last 5 cycles since getting my period again after baby #1 have been 34-36 days. My last cycle was 27 days though. This month it is telling me I will ovulate on day 20 as its predicted another 34 day cycle. I missed it last month though as it was obviously shorter.... Any suggestions? Just keep an eye out for cervical fluid? Will the app predict shorter cycles from now on if this one is too?
