My period predictor isn't on schedule on my same schedule. Will this interfere with my fertility predictor.

I normally have spotting a day or two leading up to my period and then again at the end of my period...will tracking this affect my period prediction/ovulation prediction? What is the purpose of the spotting feature exactly as it pertains to TTC charting? Thanks!

Hey there! Entering spotting data in the app will not affect your period/fertility predictions. The purpose of the spotting feature is to allow for the most accurate data possible, and also to help women determine exactly how long their cycle is. If you brown spotting prior to getting your period, it's actually not part of your period, but rather part of the previous cycle. This is because brown spotting is usually old blood clearing from the last cycle. If you have red spotting, it is counted as part of your period.

Some women also have midcycle (ovulatory) spotting, and some women experience implantation spotting. So the feature helps you to track that, too.

Why did my chart pop up with 4 dots when I marked spotting? I've only ever seen 6.

Hey beatring, did you perhaps mark watery cervical fluid for that day? The dots go up to 3 bars on the chart, but if the cervical fluid bar is lower than that, the dots will only go as high as the bar. It's not meant to signify anything different about the spotting you experienced that day. Sorry for any confusion :)

Yup watery... The next day I only had two dots.

What about the day after your period? There's blood when you urine that comes out but not enough to wear a tampon or panty liner. Is that light menstration or spotting? It's bright red

I'm just coming off the pill, and just starting to chart. After protected intercourse this morning I noticed a little blood. Period has been over for 4 days. Is this worth noting as spotting on my chart?

Hi Chelsea, if the bleeding is light enough that it doesn't require a tampon or panty liner, you should mark the bleeding as 'spotting' in the app, even if it's bright red.

Hi Lindsey, it may be worth noticing this as spotting on your chart, especially to keep track of whether this is happening often.  Bleeding after intercourse usually isn't anything to worry about, but if it happens often you may want to check with your doctor, just in case.  Hope that helps!

I started my period on the 9th of September. It was pretty light and basically done by the 12th, however the last 2 days I've had spotty brown like blood that only requires a panty liner. It shows on my calendar to expect my period again on Oct 26th. I've been recording my temp every day as well. Does that seem normal?

Hi Lauren, thanks for contacting us! Hm, if this prediction seems unusual to you, it's possible there's an error we need to fix or something has gone wrong with the prediction feature on your app.  I'd be happy to take a look if you'd like me to see if everything looks okay from my end!  If you'd like me to do this, please send us an email at feedback@kindara.com and be sure to include your email address associated with your account. We'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Is it ok to see spotting day 8,9,10 and 11 of your lacteal phase, AF started extremely heavyweight on day 12.

Hi there, thanks for contacting us!  Spotting doesn't necessarily mean that anything is wrong - it's actually quite common to experience a little bit of spotting for a few days before your period starts.  However, if the spotting seems excessive or continues for longer than 4 days or so you may want to see a doctor just to rule out any possible complications.  I hope this helps!

If i select the spotting box as the last day of my period, do i also select the light option above it as well? I ask because on the main calendar page if you only select spotting it doesn't seem to show as a period day. (Thank you for your help- I am new to this)

The fertile days stars are showing up on the same day as my period. That doesn't seem right. How do I get that to adjust?
